Emy nasceu em Los Angeles, Califórnia no dia 10 de março de 1992. Seus pais se chamam Eugene Osment e Theresa Osment e seu irmão - que também é ator (O Sexto Sentido) - se chama Haley Joel Osment. Ela começou atuar com 7 anos de idade no filme The Secret Life of Girls.
